Lot contains: (A) Heer Officer Visor, (B) Wehrmacht Mess Kit, (C) Set of Combat Y-Straps, and (D) Wehrmacht Gas Mask with Can. (A) Infantry officer visor cap in overall excellent condition. Visor is known as a "double Erel", with markings to that maker on both the liner under the sweat shield, and the sweat band. Liner markings include "Offizer Kleiderklasse", while other markings are faint. Field-gray tricot wool is near mint, with a 1" area of staining on the rear rim. White wool piping and dark green wool band are also near mint. Originally applied aluminum eagle and wreath are near mint as well, and the cockade center is a separate piece with a red wool center. Liner has its sweat shield and those are very good, as well as the untouched gay leather sweat band. There is a two inch separation of the wool on the rim on the left side. (B) Unissued aluminum mess kit marked "HRE43" in near mint condition, retaining more than 95% of its original field-gray painted finish. (C) Leather Y-Straps in overall excellent plus condition. Combat suspenders exhibit only very light storage wear, with all gray painted fittings present. Very faint "RBNr" is present on the inside of the right strap. The inside of the left strap has a "RZM SS M/4 1943" stamping, which is known to be a fake marking postwar applied to original unworn Y-straps. (D) Wehrmacht gas mask with can in overall near mint condition. Can retains more than 95% of its original field gray paint, with its original carrying straps. Can is dated 1942, and includes its clear lens stored inside the lid. Mask is a size "2" fabric early style with a 1939 dated filter, which has its original cardboard protective cover on the end of the filter.
LOT OF 4: GERMAN WWII HEER OFFICER VISOR, MESS KIT, Y-STRAPS, AND GAS MASK WITH CAN.
