According to factory letter this scarce rifle was shipped from the warehouse on September 13, 1895. Plain full octagon barrel with full magazine with scarce takedown feature. Marbles sheared front sight with brass dot and correct rear elevator sight. Roll stamp address with caliber marking on barrel flat next to receiver. Blued receiver with "Model 1886" marked on top of tang and script serial number on bottom tang. Case hardened lever, hammer, forearm cap and buttplate. Walnut stocks with nice fiddleback pattern and crescent rifle butt. CONDITION: Barrel retains 90% blue with wear on the edges. Bore is excellent with a mirror finish. Action retains 90% blue with light scratches and some wear around the loading gate and where you would carry it. Lever, hammer and buttplate have traces of fading case color. Forearm cap has case turning to a plum color. Wood has 85% original varnish with a small ding near edge of buttstock on right side and light handling marks. Mechanically sound and functions fine. A scarce combination in excellent condition.
