According to factory letter, this rifle was shipped on July 11th, 1892 as a half octagon, half magazine .40-65 rifle with plain trigger. Features sporting sights, case colored frame, hammer and lever; tang sight, walnut stocks and rifle butt. Right side of stock at wrist is stamped "GEL". CONDITION: Barrel retains approximately 90% original factory blue finish with high edge wear, sharp edges and legends and some minor handling marks. Left side of frame retains approximately 50% original case colors, as does right side; blending with gun metal grey and age freckles. 70% high polish blue on loading gate. Nice flashes of colors on sides of lever and hammer. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal with no cracks. Fine action. Sharp, clean bore.
