Lots contains: (A) Heer Artillery Officer visor cap, and (B) Heer Infantry enlisted visor cap. (A) A late-war red piped field issue visor cap in overall very good to excellent condition. Field gray tricot wool is in excellent condition, with three very small holes on the right lower side, and red wool piping denoting the artillery branch. Officer bullion chinstrap and era aluminum eagle, wreath, and cockade are excellent. Band is in dark green wool. Inside sweat shield is missing and size marking (56), as well as manufacturers markings, are faint. Leather sweatband is intact and is very good. Lining is loose on front and back, and it appears to be from handling over the years. (B) An early white piped enlisted Heer cap in overall very good condition. Field gray tricot wool is in very good condition, with 11 minor moth nips on the top, and white wool piping. It appears that someone has applied yellow color with a felt tipped marker to the wool piping years ago. Early enlisted eagle, wreath, and cockade are silver plated brass (tombak) are very good with a prong broken on the eagle. Correct leather chinstrap is present. Outside band is in dark green wool. Cap is sized "53" and sweat shield is present. Leather sweatband and cotton lining are excellent.
