Lot contains: (A) German World War II Heer Officer's M42 HBT Tunic (B) HBT Trousers. (A) The Gebirgsjager Officer HBT Tunic is, overall, in excellent condition. The base material is a green Herringbone Twill which shows very minor wear or fading. There are, however, a few small thread snags. The collar has two hand sewn Officer pattern Gebirgsjager tabs which show extensive wear. It is not known whether these tabs are period original to the tunic. Two green piped Officer shoulder boards, with one pip and ciphers reading "100", are held to the tunic by a board loop and screw-down buttons. The boards show light wear and a few minor moth nips to the piping. The right sleeve of the tunic has a hand applied cloth Edelweiss emblem. It is unknown if this emblem is period original to the tunic. The Bevo breast eagle is machine applied using a zig-zag method and appears to be original to the tunic. Ten green painted zinc buttons are used to fasten the front flap and pockets and are held in place by circular clips. The buttons retain nearly all of their green paint. Two sets of award loops are on the right breast pocket. The interior of the tunic is partially lined with rayon. The interior shows minimal wear and no visible markings. (B) The HBT Trousers are in, overall, excellent condition. The herringbone twill base material shows light wear to the knee areas and light fading throughout. Thirteen dished buttons adorn the trousers and there is a single waist adjustment strap on the center rear waistband. The inner pockets are a made of a white ribbed cotton and no visible markings can be seen inside the pants.
