A German WWII Kreigsmarine Officer's Reefer Jacket in overall, excellent condition. The jacket is made of a dark blue wool tricot that exhibits very moderate wear with a few snags and holes in the cuff areas, as well as on the jacket's left shoulder. The collar of the jacket is made of the same dark blue tricot wool as the rest of the jacket. It shows the same mild wear, and has a small separation of the seam where the collar meets the lapel on the jacket's right side. The jacket's breast eagle is a gold bullion Kreigsmarine eagle on a dark blue backing that shows a beautiful patina. The eagle is attached to the jacket by means of hand stitching. The lower cuffs of the jacket each have three stripes and a star. The stripes and stars show patina from age and a few points of wear from use. An Iron Cross Second Class ribbon is looped through the upper left button hole of the jacket and appears to be original to the jacket. There is a four place ribbon bar above the jacket's upper left outer pocket. All ten of the gilded brass buttons are in place and are securely attached. It seems as though the jacket's bottom left button is an older repair. The interior of the jacket is lined with a black cotton twill fabric. The fabric has a hole near the neck area, possibly from a hanger loop or tag being pulled out. A few areas of the sleeve liner's seams have come loose from the lining, but are 95% intact. No maker's label or stamps are observed on the inside of the jacket.
