A German Kreigsmarine Officers Visor Cap in, overall, very good condition. The upper body of the visor cap is constructed out of a dark blue doeskin wool which is in excellent condition with a few areas of moth tracking and light scattered marks. The band of the cap is wrapped with a textured black wool band. The wool band is in excellent condition, and, while tight to the band, is free floating. The visor piping is the same color as the upper body of the cap and is near mint. A gold bullion cap eagle and wreath are hand sewn to the front of the cap. The cap insignia appears to be in near mint condition and shows a very even patina throughout. The leather chin cord is intact and, aside from a few chips to the black enamel outer finish near the buttons, appears to be near mint. The visor's bill is wrapped with a textured black fabric, and embroidered on the edges with a silver bullion for Company Grade Officers. The bill of this visor has become partially separated from the cap body on the outer corners of the bill. A small pin is holding the right corner of the bill in place. The interior of the cap is lined with a blue colored rayon lining and is in excellent condition. The lining has discoloration and staining from use. The original sweat shield is partially present with a few cracks and chips. The leather sweatband is skillfully designed, but has separated from the corners of the visor's bill. The sweatband has a few cracks near the front of the visor, but is still in very good condition.
