A German World War II Kreigmarine Brown Leather Deck Coat in overall, excellent condition. The jacket is made of a dark brown, heavy weight leather. The leather shows some aging to it and light scuffs, but remains very pliable. A few field repairs can be seen on the leather exterior, mostly in the form of stitched reinforcement over previous tears. The collar of the jacket is made of a leather base and covered with a coarse brown tricot wool. The collar has a hook and loop sewn to the base of the neck area for the neck closure. Some wear and small holes can be seen on the collar's wool covering. The front of the leather jacket is adorned with two perpendicular rows of gilded brass buttons which feature the anchor and rope motif of the Kreigsmarine. The buttons have a slight patina and are securely affixed to the leather with thread. The two officer rank 'sew-in' shoulder boards show a very nice and even patina. The boards affixed to the jacket are for the rank of Kapitanleutnant. At one time, each board had two pips and a metal, medical cipher affixed to them. Unfortunately, the jacket's right side board has lost one of the pips, which is now found in the jacket's inner pocket. The interior of the jacket is lined with a heavy coarse brown tricot wool which shows slight wear.
