Arguably one of the most elaborately engraved and gold plated sets ever done. Both were engraved in the same pattern by J.T. Modloff. the early pistol in this set was manufactured in 1942 while the other was made after the war. They features almost 100% coverage deep chisel engraving in the German oak leaf vine pattern; are completely gold plated with the exception of the blue rear sight on one side of the late model. Early model has an antiqued background while the other does not. Both are fitted with real Mother of Pearl grips. Both of the magazine bases have been engraved. Besides the oak leaf pattern the underside of the slide at muzzle each has an engraved squirrel, same design but facing different directions. The visible area of barrel through chamber has been engraved in a diamond pattern. Both side of the triggers have been engraved. Neither hammer sports any engraving. Both pistols have standard sights with wind drift rears, lightweight checkered hammers, smooth triggers. CONDITION: Both guns are in as new inside and out in the same condition as when they were custom engraved retaining all of the gold plating. Retain nearly 100% of their custom finish. Both have nice bores. Housed in a French fitted custom made double pistol case.
