Factory letter states this rifle was shipped on September 8th, 1900 as a rifle, caliber "S", with no other information. Features full octagon barrel, sporting sights, 2/3 tube loading magazine, case colored frame, takedown grooved walnut forend, walnut stock and rifle butt. 1900 was the last year of the case colored receiver. CONDITION: Retains 75% blue on barrel and tube, blending with patina and some age spots. Sharp markings. Traces of case colors on left side, basically patterned out. Stocks are proud to metal with no cracks but loss of varnish; someone has carved "WS" into left side of stock. Fine action. Poor bore. CORRECTION: 1900 was the last year of the case colored receiver.
