According to factory letter, this rifle was shipped on August 18th, 1899 as a standard octagon barrel with plain stock, plain trigger. This rifle is standard in all respects with the exception of the three leaf express rear sight and tang sight. Other features include full octagon barrel, full magazine, blued finish, walnut stocks and rifle butt. CONDITION: This rifle saw only light use and was well cared for. Barrel retains approximately 95-97% original finish with razor sharp edges and legends. Sides of the frame retain approximately 85% of the high polish blue, silvering around edges. Nice evidence of case color on hammer and sides of lever. Excellent walnut stocks that are proud to metal, clean with just a minor impressions. Buttplate is silvery. Fine action. Sharp, clean bore; slightly fuzzy in grooves. Beautiful, classic octagon in .30-30.
