According to factory letter this rifle was shipped on August 18th, 1900 as a .30 caliber rifle with octagon barrel, plain trigger, half magazine and takedown. Features sporting front sight, Winchester Express three leaf folding rear sight, Lyman tang sight, blued finish, case colored hammer and lever, walnut stocks and rifle butt. Lyman tang sight is a recent addition. This is a lovely rifle in a wonderful configuration with scarce full octagon half magazine. CONDITION: Barrel retains approximately 95% original factory blue with razor sharp edges and legends. The nose cap is basically patina. Takedown ring has 20% blue turning plum. Sides of the frame retain approximately 85-90% original high polish factory blue with straight screws and visible striations on right side. 50% nitre blue on loading gate. Strong case colors on sides of hammer and lever. Buttplate has patterned out. Extra finish wood is proud to metal, in excellent condition with minor bruises. Bore has well-defined rifling, albeit slightly rough.
