This is a fine example of a used, but well cared for, early octagon barrel Savage Model 1899 in the popular, early Winchester caliber. Sports a high profile front sight, rear sight has a blank. Tang sight mounted on frame. CONDITION: The octagon barrel retains approximately 85-90% original blue, starting to thin in spots, perfectly blending with sharp edges and legends. Frame has faded to a grey patina. Lever has traces of color. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal with usual minor dings. Well defined rifling, grooves are frosty. Action fine. Well cared for example of an American Classic.
