Offered is a 100% all original US Navy with all correct parts untouched. Features include barrel with "HP" stamp in line with barrel sans serifs, which began at serial number 110000; Type II beveled edge rear sight, correct Type III wide spur checkered hammer, Type III tempered two tone magazine with lanyard loop, correct long smooth trigger, correct slide stop and safety, flat mainspring housing with loop, diamond truncated walnut grips. Left side of frame has the inspector stamp in circle "GHS" Gilbert H. Stewart 1915 to 1918. Right side of slide is stamped "MODEL OF 1911 US NAVY". Left side of frame stamped "UNITED STATES PROPERTY". Left side of slide has the August 1913 patent date with pony at rear. CONDITION: This entire gun has a matching finish of the military blue mixing with patina. All wear is consistent and even. All legends are razor sharp. Generous amounts of original blue, especially on frame. Fine bore and action. A perfectly homogenous, original, untouched 1915 Colt Navy. Factory letter states serial number 109543 was shipped as a standard Navy 1911 to the United States Government Navy General Storekeeper, Navy Yard, Brooklyn, New York on March 5th 1915 in a 500 gun shipment.
