A factory letter was sent for but no information was available regarding this shotgun. It is factory stamped "CYL" on left side of barrel, which is proper. It is nearly impossible to find a legitimate 10 gauge 1901 shotgun made in the riot configuration. They were used on stagecoaches and in prisons. Features a blue finish, walnut forend side panels, round knob walnut stock and checkered steel shotgun buttplate. CONDITION: The barrel address is razor sharp. Tube and barrel are mix of grey-blue-brown patina with some minor freckling, giving a homogeneous look for barrel and tube alike. Right side of frame retains 95% original factory blue with some age freckling. Left side has some light salt and pepper with somewhat blotchier finish, but still 75% mixing with patina. Stocks are excellent to near mint with a couple minor usual handling marks and impressions. Action is perfect. Bore is shiny. A beautiful collector grade and very scarce Winchester riot gun which we believe to be completely correct, though not able to verify via factory letter.
