Uncommon 20 Inch full octagon barrel with modified nickel silver blade front sight. Knurled elevator adjustable rear sight with two line Hartford Colt address on top barrel flat and 44 CAL marked on top over chamber. Two piece walnut stocks with checkered forearm and crescent butt plate. Manufacture in 1884. CONDITION. Good as partially refinished. The barrel magazine and receiver have a plum patina finish and appears to be a contemporary applied finish. Barrel and magazine appear to be a period cut down to current length. The walnut stocks are very slightly sanded and refinished and undersized at wrist area around tang and butt plate. Action is functional but fails to lock fully when cocked. Bore is dark with strong rifling. TDW
