This revolver features two line barrel address, two line patent date on left side of frame, six shot, single action, originally blue and case colored, and black checkered composite grips. Full or partial matching serial numbers on frame, barrel, trigger guard, backstrap. Some one has professionally engraved "E. de Mex." for Estados or Ejercito de Mexico (State or Army of Mexico) which would indicate this revolver probably ended up with the Federales. Like most south of the border guns, this revolver is almost all soft grey-brown patina. Grips are not numbered but fit precisely and are in excellent condition. The four Colt clicks index and lock up cylinder tightly. Strong, clean rifling with sharp lands and light frosting in grooves. CORRECTION: This pistol was engraved at the factory with “E. de Mex.”. Shipped in two separate shipments in April and August of 1908 for a total of 124 guns. These were ordered by the state of Mexico. They were shipped to M. Hartley and Company in New York, ordered through them.
