The New Model No. 3 was introduced in 1878 to compete with the Colt Single Action Army. All frames were manufactured prior to 1898, making them all antique even though the last shipment of this model was in 1912. Features top break, six shot, single action, factory nickel finish, half moon front sight, case colored hammer and trigger guard, original aged and perfectly fitted two piece ivory grips. CONDITION: Overall, the original factory nickel finish is probably at about 50-60% with the balance blending with age freckling and soft patina. Grips are excellent. Indexes and locks up like a bank vault. Bore exhibits sharp lands with frosted grooves. Serial No. 24315 shipped 1889 and serial No. 16999 shipped in 1887, so this gun was shipped between 1887 and 1889.
