Teddy Roosevelt's favorite big medicine rifle that features full round barrel, Winchester sporting sights, takedown, blue finish, walnut stocks, checkered steel shotgun buttplate and Winchester sling eyes. CONDITION: The barrel is a mix of factory blue and gunmetal grey patina, perfectly blending with some age spotting coming through the finish. The takedown collar is grey patina. The frame retains approximately 40% original blue with scattered age freckling and thinning to a smooth gunmetal grey. The magazine retains 75% blue with the balance turning gunmetal patina with overall age freckling. The lever is an even blue-brown patina mix. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal, with the factory installed Winchester sling eyes. Action is fine but the bore is well-defined while the lands are somewhat frosted. Obviously a rifle that was used but well loved and taken care of and is in the popular lion caliber. CORRECTION: Stock shows two cracks; one along bottom tang approximately 1-1/2" and another along top tang approximately 1-1/2".
