This factory engraved Navy revolver features full octagon barrel, solid frame, factory nickel finish, engraving on side of frame, case hardened hammer and two piece walnut grips. Left side has the typical Navy casting flaw that is seen on page 75 in the book "A Study of Colt Conversions" by McDowell. Barrel markings are sharp. CONDITION: Barrel has flaked and bubbled to approximately 70% original nickel. Frame retains approximately 80% original nickel. Cylinder retains approximately 85% with usual aging. Grips are very good to excellent with chip to toe at left front panel. Indexes and locks up like new. Strong, sharp lands and grooves. Extremely handsome and scarce 1870's Remington factory engraved Navy conversion.
