Gun (A) Model 1895 carbine. This carbine is featured on page 76 in the book "Mauser Military Rifles of the World" by Robert Ball. Features 37-1/4" overall, 7.5 lbs, turnbolt action, five round staggered column box magazine, V notch rear sight graduate to 1,400 meters, front sight with ear protection, stamped with Chilean national crest on receiver ring, manufacturer stamps on left side of frame, sling swivels on rear band and left side of stock, smooth metal buttplate, cleaning rod attached, forend tip has bayonet lug. Matching number on bolt and floorplate. CONDITION: All metal is a soft, grey patina with razor sharp legends. Wood is very good to excellent with usual minor dings. No import stamps. Fine action. Strong, clean rifled bore. Nice, clean little carbine. Gun (B) Model 1895 rifle. Manufactured by Ludwig, Loewe & Co. from 1897 to 1900. Chilean crest stamped on receiver bridge. Matching serial number on bolt, floorplate and trigger guard. Overall length is 48-1/2" with four groove right handle rifling, turnbolt action, five round staggered column flush box magazine, V notch leaf rear sight graduated to 2,000 meters. Left side of stock is stamped with Chilean crest. No visible import stamp. CONDITION: All metal is a soft, homogeneous, blue-grey patina. Stock is very good with usual multiple dings and abrasions. Both of these German made Mausers are all original with no import stamps, all matching numbers and with good bores and actions. Both collectible and shootable.
