Lot consists of: Gun (A) All matching World War II 98K rifle with S/42 Mauser code and dated 1937. Bolt and all metal parts match. Stock is numbered to the gun and Waffenampts are visible. Early style spoon buttplate. Graduated matching rear sight with front blade sight. Comes with original looking sling. CONDITION: Well worn original military finish with dings and marks consistent with usage in combat. All markings visible exception of stock where dirt and use has blurred them. Bore is excellent. Sling is original and faded. Rifle is missing cleaning rod and front sight hood. Mechanically sound and functions fine. Gun (B) World War I Gewehr 98 rifle manufactured at Spandau Arsenal and dated 1910, this gun has all matching metal parts and wood stock numbered to the gun. Straight bolt handle with graduated matching rear sight and blade front. Comes with original cleaning rod and sling and original "butcher blade " bayonet and sheath. CONDITION: Condition consistent with use in combat and metal parts have worn to a silvery patina. Excellent matching markings with matching stock having dings and scratches consistent with heavy usage. Excellent bore and mechanically sound. Bayonet has original leather sheath and is unsharpened with original leather frog and present serrated wood grips. Sling is original but torn. A great historical military lot.
