Special order Model 1873 Winchester 2nd model with 30 inch full octagon barrel and full magazine. Two piece American walnut stocks with crescent buttplate. Extra length barrels are a great oddity in the world of Winchester collecting. Very few rifles were ever ordered with extra length barrels. This rifle manufactured in 1889 is chambered for the 32-20 cartridge. CONDITION. Fair overall the barrel and receiver are a brown patina finish overall with numerous areas of light pitting. All markings are crisp and legible. The two piece walnut stocks are worn and dark with slight material loss at edges. Stocks are solid. The bore is dark with visible rifling. The hammer fails to stay to the rear in full cock when operated by the lever but does function when manually cocked.
