The model 1865 Spencer carbine was produced from 1865 until 1866. Features a 20 inch barrel (as opposed to the 22 inch barrel found on model 1860 carbines). About half of the production was fitted with the Stabler magazine cutoff, as this gun is. There were approximately 23,000 of these guns made. Standard markings with the addition of "M 1865" on the top of the barrel. CONDITION: Receiver has been lightly cleaned with some extremely minor pitting. Markings are clear. Barrel retains 70% thinning blue. 80% case colors on sides of breechblock, as protected by receiver when action is closed. Stocks are good with nice cartouches on the left side of the stock, showing some wear and handling marks. Bore has strong sharp rifling with minor areas of roughness.
