Gun (A) US Army 1903 Mk I Rifle. Barrel is stamped "SA" and dated 10-44, making this a typical World War II rebuild of an original 1919 Model 1903 rifle cut for the Pedersen device. Metal as been reparkerized. Rear sight is the standard World War II sight. All milled parts. Original World War I stock with inspector stamp on left side "DAL" along with a rebuild stamp, for Daniel A. Leary, whose stamp can be found on 1903 rifles manufactured from World War I into the 1930's. Has two "P" stamps on the wrist. The early cursive "P" and the later block "P" with no serifs. CONDITION: The majority arsenal refinish is good. Wood is very good to excellent with usual dings. Someone has pencil etched a serial number 61786 on the bolt. TE reading: 2. ME reading: 1. A nice example of a scarce rifle rebuilt for use in the second war. Gun (B) US Army Remington Model 1903-A3. Barrel is stamped "RA" with bomb and 11-43 date. Has the early, all milled parts with the exception of the barrel bands which are stamped. Has the 03-A3 rear bridge updated rear sight. Parkerized finish. Stock is a replacement scant stock. CONDITION: Retains virtually all of its parkerized finish. No cartouches on the stock, which is in excellent to near mint condition, indicates field replacement. In excellent to near mint condition overall. There is a 2" very light stress crack on left rear of stock.
