While the serial number places this in the middle of the Fourth Series, there is no capping groove on right recoil shield. It has full or partial matching serial numbers on frame, barrel, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder, wedge, loading lever and cylinder pin. The cylinder has the roll engraved Naval scene that is almost 100% intact.. Barrel has the New York address and post front sight. There is a "2" stamped on left trigger bow. No inspector stamps on this civilian revolver. CONDITION Barrel retains approximately 75-80% of the original Colt factory high polish blue finish with razor sharp legends. Forcing cone has the majority of its original high polish blue finish indicating this revolver saw little use. Loading lever retains strong case colors, especially on sides. Both the left and right side of the frame retain strong case colors while the shield have patterned out. Cylinder has all original nipples but no blue finish. Brass straps have mellowed and shows approximately 10% original plating. Varnished grips are excellent but have had some finish added. Indexes and locks up like new. Near mint bore. Lots of condition on this civilian mid-Civil War commercial model.
