12-1/4" diamond section blade, tapered at bottom. Bottom of blade and brass ferrule punch with single dot on left side. Fitted with a 3-1/4" iron guard at the base of the blade, followed by a 1-1/8" brass ferrule and retained by 18-3/4" iron straps. Complete with original haft of hickory. For a nearly identical example, see plate 106 (center) on page 128 of "American Polearms" by Rodney Hilton Brown. He states that these are Confederate Government pikes made at Augusta Arsenal. CONDITION: Very good. Blade has some scattered areas of corrosion and hardened tip retains a brown patina, otherwise retains grey patina with some minor nicks to edges. Straps retain a dark brown patina and haft appears to have most of original finish.
Item Dimensions: 7' 4 - 1/2" L.
