The lozenge shaped blade is 29" long and etched and gilt throughout its length with figures of saints including Thomas, Matthew, Andreas, and others, and further engraved in Latin, "Neither draw me out reason not sheath me without honor". The guard and hilt encrusted with silver flowers and figures with gilt highlights and exotic Turkish figures. CONDITION: The blade has been reduced in length at tip, but the etching is crisp, engraving is good, and traced of original gilding remain, relief encrusted silver slightly rubbed. Grip retains and old rewrap. Old lead collection tag is still attached to the knuckle bow.
