Measures 29-1/2" long x 14-7/8" wide. This poster was created by one of the most prolific Winchester illustrators of all time, Philip R. Goodwin. It is copyrighted 1911 on the bottom left corner of the picture. The entire image was done in pastel. Features two cowboys hunting mountain goats with the shooter wielding a Winchester lever action. The detail does not allow for a specific model. There is some usual light horizontal creasing that is barely noticeable. Creases show no signs of inpainting to try to cover them up. The metal bands are not visible due to framing. This poster is titled "Two Hunters Lying on a Rock". Featured on page 43 in the book titled "Winchester Rarities" by Tom Webster, albeit it is the pastel version with the yellow "Winchester" and "W", not red. Philip R. Goodwin was an American painter and illustrator who specialized in depictions of wildlife, the outdoors, fishing, hunting and the Old American West. He provided illustrations for numerous books and magazines, as well as for commercial items, such as posters, advertisements and calendars. He is perhaps best known for illustrating Jack London's "The Call of the Wild" and for providing the cover art for many issues of Outdoor Recreation/Outdoor Life Magazine during the 1920's and early 1930's. He is also the artist who designed the "Horse & Rider" Trademark of the Winchester Repeating Arms Company.
