One of Ad's most famous and well-known trademarks was that he would shoot designs into pieces of tin and give it away to a lucky spectator. The Indian head was his most famous of all silhouettes. They were shot offhand totaling more than 100 rounds to complete the image. This example is signed in the upper left "Shot by Ad Topperwein Winchester May 1-40" Tin measures 28" tall x 18-1/2" wide. Tin has toned and there are some areas of rust. Simply framed in pine. Iconic image and instantly recognizable as to the shooting artist.
