As most collectors know, it is hard to find a good, clean, high condition Model 1890 rifle. This example features full octagon barrel, 2/3 magazine loading tube, takedown, blued finish, case colored hammer, grooved walnut forend, walnut buttstock with rifle buttplate, Winchester sporting rear sight and copper bead dovetail front sight. Elevator has patent date. CONDITION: Octagon barrel retains 90% or better original factory blue with light wear at muzzle and high edges. Tube retains 85% original blue. Frame retains approximately 85% original blue, including tang; balance blending to smooth patina. Traces of colors on hammer. Walnut stocks are excellent, proud to metal with original varnish. Action is like new. Bore is very good to excellent with pronounced rifling and frosted grooves. This beautiful little rifle comes with an original period canvas and leather carry case in very good condition.
