(1947) 24" Tapered round barrel is fitted with sleeved-on base holding one standing, one folding leaf rear sight, front sight with silver bead, and sling loop. Rear portion is stamped with serial number, caliber, and 1947 proofs. Lightweight small ring Mauser 98 type action with butter knife bolt handle, is marked with makers name and address on solid side wall. New style bolt shroud has safety on left side. Action is fitted with double set triggers and removable floorplate with push button release. Action is also fitted with claw scope bases holding original 4X scope with three post reticle in original rings, with serial numbers matching rifle. Lightly streaked European walnut capped pistol grip stock measures 14" over composition buttplate. Stock features nicely shaped right hand cheekpiece and point pattern checkering. Weight with scope: 7 lbs. 13 oz. CONDITION: Very fine, as partially refinished. Metal parts retain 70 - 80% original blue. Stock has light refinish with a few remaining sanding marks. Bore is fine with some scattered light pitting, a bit dark in grooves. Scope is fine with some light pitting and rusting, mostly on ocular end. Optically good. MGM 84
