(1974) According to factory letter this unique shotgun was sold in 1974, and it has 28" barrels choked full and full. Presently barrels are marked for mod and full. Barrels are fitted with narrow, matted, ventilated rib and Browning name along with Utah and Montreal addresses and "Made in Belgium" are hand engraved on left side of top barrel. Right side is engraved "Browning Patents 20 Ga Shells 3" Special Steel". Coin finished small sized action has nicely filed fences; bottom is nicely rounded in superlight style. Action is fitted with checkered single selective trigger. Action is engraved with full coverage large Baroque scrolling acanthus with floral highlights in a background of small scroll. Ned Schwing in THE BROWNING SUPERPOSED illustrates another gun with this pattern of engraving and indicates that according to factory records this particular pattern was used on only 8 guns. Engravers signature "C Baerten" (Claude) is at bottom right of left side. Trigger guard is also fully engraved in this style. Long tang, square knob buttstock of flame crotch figured Claro walnut measures 14 - 3/8" over skip line checkered wood butt. Modified point pattern checkering wraps over top of grip. Superlight style schnabeled forend is of crotch figured walnut and matches fairly well. Tan Hartman case is lined in faux fur, and contains Browning guarantee for this gun, and a key. CONDITION: Excellent, very close to "as new", appears unfired since proof. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent. A superb rare superposed. MGM 116
