30" Barrels with raised, matted, concave rib are engraved "CHROMOX - FLUID - STEEL" and "MADE TO ORDER - A. H. FOX" on tops. There are 3" triangles of semi relief large open flowing acanthus scroll at breech ends. Barrel flats are stamped with grade, serial number, gauge and chamber, and Fox proof. Makers name and address are on loop. Case hardened, small frame A H Fox boxlock type action is marked with serial number, grade, and patent dates on nicely engraved water table. Action features double ogee shaped back, rebated frame, automatic safety (SAFE inlaid in gold), and gold-plated double triggers. Action is engraved with full coverage superb scroll matching that on barrels, surrounding nicely detailed vignettes of game on sides; pheasant on left, grouse on right. "ANSLEY H FOX" is on ribbon behind each scene. Bottom of action has circular dog scene. Blued trigger guard is engraved with matching scroll. Serial number is in gold on tang. Engravers signature "A. Tuscano" is on trigger plate. Beautifully marbled and attractively figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 - 7/8" over dark leather covered pad. Side panels and grip are checkered in classic "D" style with fancy borders and ribbon separating flourishes of checkering into butt. Matching splinter ejector forend has Fox's Deeley type release, and patent dates, grade, and serial number on interior of iron. Gun is accompanied by its original hang tag with a retail price of $21,000.00. Gun is housed in high quality tan and leather case with stitched leather corners. Case is lined in burgundy cloth, and has Fox label in lid. Case contains cleaning equipment, snap caps, and square oil bottle. CONDITION: Excellent, very close to as new with only a few of the slightest handling and assembly marks in all wood and metal finishes. Mechanically excellent. Case is excellent. MGM 109
