George C. Schoyen is one of the most famous gunsmiths and gun inventors at the turn of the century, based in Denver, Colorado. Most of his work was performed on single shot target rifles such as Sharps, Ballards and Stevens. His barrels were world renowned for their accuracy. George built this custom little Stevens with a half octagon barrel, small rear sporting sight, globe front sight, full length walnut forearm, cleaning rod, rifle butt with Swiss buttplate and long range tang sight. Barrel is stamped "GEO C. SCHOYEN DENVER". Custom recessed muzzle. CONDITION: Barrel retains virtually all of its reapplied blued finish. Frame retains 95% of its reapplied blue finish and has turned a purple hue. Lever is refinished. Wood is excellent. Swiss buttplate has been reblued and has some hue as frame. Fine bore and action. Comes with bullets, cases, dies; everything you need to take this out and go shooting.
