In 1971, Colt was just starting to produce their reintroduction of the Black Powder Series and made a special edition Model 1851 Navy to commemorate one of America's greatest generals, Robert E. Lee, then of the former Confederate States of America. It was a basic blue and case colored revolver with one piece walnut grips and silver plated trigger guard and backstrap. Left side of the barrel is stamped "ROBERT E LEE COMMEMORATIVE - 1971". CONDITION: Gun is in near new condition inside and out but somehow got separated from its original display box. It has never been fired. Retains 99% of its original finish. Lee remained a gentleman to the highest order both during and after the war, and this revolver was a fitting tribute to the gallant General.
