Earliest SIG P210s were introduced in 1947 as the SP 47/8. Approximately 1000 SP 47/8 pistols were assembled with most falling into the Swedish Contract range. This later gun, the first in the infrequently encountered 7000 serial range, shares all of their features, including loaded indicator, rust blue finish, and frame without lanyard ring. As per all the SP 47/8 pistols, this example has a 4.75 inch barrel, and drift adjustable front and rear sights. The left side of the slide is marked "S.P. 47/8 SIG." The full serial number appears on the left side of the frame, along with the S (in white) F (in red) detents. The full serial number is repeated on the right side of the barrel, and under the slide. Recoil spring guide correctly denoted "9.0". Unnumbered hammer group without half-cock feature as correct for this pistol. Original magazine with seven indicator holes and detachable floorplate. Varnished, serrated grips without the lanyard ring recess. Major components are rust blued with hammer, slide release and trigger in the white. Complete in original unnumbered two piece sleeved shipping box, cover imprinted with SIG logo and automatic pistol notation in German, French, and English. CONDITION: Approximately 95% bright original rust blue with comparable or better condition front strap. Excellent grips. Mirror bright bore with sharp rifling. Perfect manual mechanics. Near excellent box. A wonderful, early, SIG variation, even better with the original box.
