Overall length: 52 inches. Barrel length: 36 inches. This rifle is in excellent condition with only a small 1 - 1/2" x 1/2 deep plastic "infill" on the upper left hand stock. The curly maple stock has its original finish and there are 22 silver inlays (one missing) ranging from tear-drops, half-moons, diamonds, and a heart in addition to the engraved brass oval patchbox, brass comb-plate, and brass forearm plate. The full octagonal barrel is signed in script "P F G" and was shortened in its period of use. The percussion lock is marked "H. Leman, Lancaster" and the rifle dated to the 1840 period.
