Overall length: 50 - 1/2 inches. Barrel length: 34 inches. This double barrel rifle/shotgun is a "swivel breech" (its mechanism needs minor adjustment), thus only requiring one "back-action" percussion lock, marked Joseph Golcher, and "double-set" triggers. The brass oval patchbox, toeplate, and sideplate are nicely engraved with wriggle-work and straight cuts. Both octagonal barrels have their original bores, one rifled and one smooth, and the curly maple stick with its graceful oval cheek piece and original finish. These guns seem to originate in northeastern Pennsylvania around 1850 to 1870.
DOUBLE BARREL RIFLE/SHOTGUN.
