Overall length: 48 inches. Barrel length: 31 inches. This unique "side by side" rifle/shotgun is signed "A.H. Lewis 1861" on both side locks, which have recessed hammers and folding triggers. When the hammers are cocked, the triggers come out "at attention". Both the barrels are fully round, while one is a very small caliber and the other is a much larger smooth bore. The refinished walnut stock has silver-mounts including the oval patchbox, toe-plate, and butt-plate. All metal is polished bright. This piece may be "one of a kind" and obviously was being shot late in its life, having an adjustable sight, along with later "peep" sights.
