Manufactured 1860 to 1865, 20,202 manufactured. This example is dated 1865 on lower tang. Features octagon to round blued barrel, fixed front sight, two leaf ladder military sight, saddle ring and bar, and walnut stocks. Left side of frame has patent dates. "N" inspector stamp on left side of barrel. Two cartouches on left side of stock in rectangle "AJM" August Noble and "JM" James Mills, both of which only inspected the Second Model Maynard carbine. CONDITION: 60% or better original blue blending with patina. Saddle ring bar screw retains generous amounts of nitre blue. Top of frame has brilliant case colors. Right side of frame retains approximately 30% case colors with nitre blue screws. Stocks are excellent with usual handling marks. This gun has seen very little use which is quite common on Second Models due to their late entry at the tail end of the Civil War.
