24 - 1/2" Lightweight barrel is fitted with one standing leaf rear sight in island base and front ramp with silver bead and sight protector. Top of barrel is engraved "WAFFEN DSCHULNIGG SALZBURG - AUSTRIA". 1958 Proofs and caliber are at rear. Blued FN action has had bolt handle altered to butter knife type. Body and extractor are engine turned. A low scope safety has been fitted, and scope side mount installed. Standard FN bottom metal is fitted with double set triggers, and shotgun style trigger guard. Action is engraved with geometrical designs and with scroll on bolt handle. Bottom metal is engraved with 80% coverage small sprays of scroll surrounding game scenes inlaid in silver; a roaring stag on floorplate and chamois on trigger guard bow. Nicely mottled European walnut extreme pistol grip Monte Carlo stock measures 14" over ribbed composition buttplate with thin white line. Stock also features swept shadow line right hand cheekpiece, and horn forend tip and grip cap. Checkering is of fancy fleur-di-lis type. A Pecar 3 - 7 X scope with three post and crosshair reticle is in steel single lever side mount. Rifle is fitted with tan leather carrying strap. Weight with scope: 8 lbs 8 oz. CONDITION: Excellent. Metal parts retain nearly all of their original blue with some light silvering and a few scattered marks. Stock retains about 90% original oil finish with scattered scratches, with chipping and loss at normal carrying areas at grip and forend. Bores is excellent. Action is smooth. Scope is excellent with a few light marks, slightly cloudy. MGM 230
