Classic Winchester 1866 "Yellow Boy" Rifle manufactured in 1873. 24 inch octagon barrel with two piece varnished American walnut stocks and sling swivels. Gun metal brass frame, butt plate and fore end cap. Ladder adjustable rear sight with modified "Rocky Mountain" blade front sight. Lower tang is marked "XX". Stock has no serial number in tang mortise and butt plate has the full 118334 serial number marked internally at toe. CONDITION. Good overall. The barrel and magazine are a smooth dove grey finish with slight patina spotting evident. The stocks have een lightly sanded and had an additional varnish applied at some more recent time. The brass has been polished at an earlier time and is still quite bright. the bore is bright and shiny with evidence of minor pitting and strong rifling. Action is crisp and properly functioning. TDW
