Rare factory documented Nickel finished Winchester 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine.Manufactured 1888 and shipped with 20 inch round barrel with pedestal carbine front sight and ladder adjustable rear sight. Two line Winchester address forward of rear sight with chamber top marked 44 WCF. Nickel finished overall including all screws . Two piece American walnut stocks with steel carbine butt plate. . Saddle ring on left side of receiver. no markings on internal of tang or stock mortise. With confirmation from Buffalo Bill Historical center confirming that serial number 265173 was shipped Nickel finish May 31st 1888. CONDITION. Good overall with generous amounts of the nickel finish remaining on barrel and receiver. The two piece American walnut socks are very good , solid and full sized. The action is crisp and functions properly. The bore is bright with sharp rifling but has evidence of some pitting in its past. A very unique Winchester carbine. TDW
