Lot contains: (A) Bugle measuring 11-1/4" overall , the components with sterling proof and makers marks. The bell engraved with the crest of the Somerset Light Infantry and "Presented to the/ 1st Battn The Somerset Light Infantry/ Prince Alberts/ ?? 1930, by the trustees of the Ranling ??/ In memory of/ Brigadier General Cecil G. Rawling." CONDITION: Bugle is in excellent condition with some minor wear to the engraving but no dents or breaks. (B) Bugle measures 10-7/8" overall, components with sterling and makers marks. The bell engraved "Presented/ by/ Captain Frank Hughes/ to the/ 1st Royal Dublin Fusiliers/ on the 1st September 1890/ To Be In The Possession Of The/ Best Shooting Company For Each Year", and continuing with a list of winning companies which date from 1890 to 1908. CONDITION: Bugle shows moderate wear and exhibits a number of small scattered dents. From the Ray Bentley Collection.
