This massic eight bore front loading, Damascus shotgun was built by Alexander Thompson of Edinburgh, as stamped on center rib. Features Damascus barrels with engraving at breech of rib, dual back action locks with dolphin head form hammers, finely engraved locks, engraved trigger guard and top tang, one piece walnut stock, twin barrel edges, engraved and inlaid ramrod entry ferrule, engraved shotgun buttplate with large upper tang and double triggers. Maker stamped. CONDITION: Metal is all patina. Wood is excellent with usual bumps and bruises. Very scarce 19th century market gun.
