This is a 1904 dated M/96 Swedish Mauser rifle that was set up for military match shooting. Features a flash hider, original trajectory plate affixed to the right side of the stock, and the scarce Metallverken Vasteras M96 rear sight. The Vasteras rear sight was retrofitted to M/96 and M/38 Swedish Mausers to improve accuracy, it is a simple micrometer sight which a wheel adjustment. Proper front sight hood. Leather sling. Also attached to the stock on this gun is a Swedish 1st Place shooting medal. The stock disc only has a triangular marking above the caliber, and none of the other numbers. Original cleaning rod. Import marked under barrel. All matching numbers with the exception of the front band. There is a consignor note that the front piece of the stock has been modified with a reinforced metal tip for match shooting. CONDITION: Fine retaining 95% finish overall. All markings are clear. Stock is very good with small dings and handling marks. Fine mechanical function. Bore is excellent with sharp strong rifling.
