Lot contains: (A) Imperial German M1889 Cavalry Sword, (B) Imperial Bavarian M1855 Artillery Swords, and (C) German Made Sawback Bayonet. (A) Model 1889 Imperial German sword in overall excellent condition. Triple etched nickel plated blade that is maker marked "Eugen Klotz, Stuttgart" and unit marked on a 12" panel, "Drag. Rgt. Konig No. 26", which represents the 26th Dragoon Regiment (2nd Wurttenburg). Both 12" panels depict mounted cavalrymen. Nickel plated handguard has the Wurttenburg crest on it, and the plastic grip has two 1" pieces missing near the pommel. Nickel plated scabbard has dings, freckling, and scattered light marks throughout. (B) Model 1855 Imperial Bavarian artillery sword in overall good condition. Steel blade is maker marked "G.M." with a "187" and Bavarian proof on the spine. Blade has scattered marks and freckling throughout. Steel cross guard is unit marked to a light munitions column, with freckling throughout. Blued steel scabbard is unit marked to the same unit as the cross guard, with an old unit marking crossed out. Inside edge of the scabbard is marked "3 AR" representing the 3rd Royal Bavarian Foot Artillery Regiment. The scabbard has a uniform patina with freckling on the fittings. (C) Unusual German made saw back bayonet in overall very good to excellent condition. While similar to the M71 rifle bayonet, it is not the same. Maker marked to "SIMPSON & Co, SUHL", with no other markings visible. Saw back blade is excellent with some light freckling near the crossguard. Brass handle, blued bayonet release, and steel crossguard are very good, with freckling and patina. Leather scabbard is intact with areas of dryness. Scabbard fittings are brass with age patina.
