These small carbines were popular with the British during the Burma campaign. This example is dated 12-45 and thus manufactured at the tail end of the war. Top of the barrel has all of the tonnage proof stamps. No visible import stamps. As a typical jungle carbine metal butt plate with rubber center. Has an attached sling swivel at the butt plate and the front of the stock. metal retains approximately 30% of the black enamel and blue finish. Hand guard has some significant losses. Stock is average. Has the typical military long range folding sight that is stamped #7. Bolt is stamped Mk2 and is serial numbered T4238, matching the frame. Stock has typical British proofs. Fully operational with a strong, pronounced rifle bore.
