This Colt Commander was engraved and signed by David Harris. Motif is that of Cole Agee's signature cattle brand style in which numerous ranch symbols are engraved about the gun with intermittent scroll leaf and punch dot background. Virtually every area of this pistol has been engraved save the grip safety and a few small parts. Also features real ivory steer head grips with ruby eyes on both panels, which is rarely the case. It was then fully plated and a lightweight adjustable trigger was installed. David Harris would have been very familiar with the cattle brand as he got his training from master engraver Weldon Bledsoe, who for years studied under Cole Agee. David Harris comments on the cattle brand design of Cole Agee on page 134 in the book "Cole Agee Texas Engraver" by Jink Howard, "As for the engraving of the cattle brand design, Cole Agee started that. Weldon said that Cole has a customer in Mexico that wanted something special...Cole came up with cattle brand design...". It was Bledsoe who taught Harris how to do the cattle brand engraving. If Harris did not identify his work with his signature, it would be very difficult to tell a true Agee cattle brand gun as they are so similar. CONDITION: An outstanding gun with 99% or better finish applied at time of engraving and the double long horn ruby eye grips panels make this a very special pistol.
